Managing change in business environments

Comms Room Design and Build

Network Intelligence has designed and constructed a complete range of close controlled environments on behalf of Clients, architects and fit-out contractors.

Integrating the services of our own ‘in-house’ Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) consultants, Network Intelligence produces full CAD drawn designs and layouts for incorporation into the architectural or main contractor drawing packages

Where the creation of a new comms room is a discrete exercise by our clients, Network Intelligence operates as a main contractor taking full design and construction responsibilities.

Our activities extend to liaising with local authorities for planning permission and building regulations as well as with the fire officer and District Surveyor. Where our clients are tenants in leased buildings we deal with the landlord and his professional representatives on their behalf.

The whole scope of room operation and functionality are considered by our design team; from the utlisation of the room by IT personnel, the protection of business critical equipment from water ingress and fire, to the redundancy of airconditioning and power feeds.

Making the room work practically as well as technically is a significant part of our design criteria. Co-ordinating high and low level services, floor and ceiling grid set-off points, reflected lighting plans and comms cabinet/equipment positions is an expertise gained from years of experience of what works and what does not.

Our designs are converted into full specification and/or tender documentation for issue to the various sub-contractors either directly by NIL or through a main contractor.

NIL maintains a constant management and quality assurance role throughout the construction of the room witnessing the commissioning of systems, the adherence to health and safety procedures and creation of operating and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
